BEAMIDE (INFN spin-off) wins the America Innovation Award

Last March 14, Beamide Srl , a spin-off company of the National Institute of Nuclear Physics ( INFN ) founded in Perugia in November 2021, received the prestigious 2024 America Innovation Award from the Italy-USA Foundation for having developed the MRADSIM software . This award represents a recognition of international prestige as well as a qualification and certification of quality in front of investors and the markets and is aimed at the best Italian startups that valorise entrepreneurial talents in our country every year.

MRADSIM, in fact, will be able to simulate the effects of radiation on electronic, mechanical and biological systems and convert them into the simulation input format. The free demo version of the converter has been reviewed and used by high-profile scientific institutions, including the European Space Agency (ESA) , CERN , NASA , Stanford University in California, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston and the Brookhaven National Laboratory .

Furthermore, being a highly versatile tool , MRADSIM can be used both in the aerospace and medical and nuclear physics sectors . Preventing, monitoring and researching new radiation cleanup methods is important in a context in which radiation is starting to have a major impact on global health and defense.

In addition to the MRADSIM project, Beamide is also involved in the research and development of innovative radiation detectors , radiation tests and qualification tests in thermo-vacuum chambers.

The co-founders of the company, Efe Alpat and Giovanni Bartolini , received the award and, accompanied by Ali Behcet Alpat – creator and scientific coordinator of the MRADSIM project – expressed profound satisfaction with the award received.

” The Italy-USA Foundation, in addition to the precious recognition, also gave us the opportunity to take advantage of two important scholarships for the master’s degree in Leadership for international relations and Made in Italy, in which numerous internationally prestigious teachers will participate “, the co-founders commented.
